WSOP is coming to the Netherlands
The World Series of Poker is coming to the Netherlands next year. A satellite event for the international World Series of Poker will take place in the autumn of 2017 in the Netherlands. Holland Casino has signed a deal with WSOP organizer Caesar Entertainment and will host a number of events as Holland Casino is one of the few places in the Netherlands where this is legal.
Commenting on the announcement of Holland Casino, CEO Erwin Lambaart said: “We are proud of the collaboration between the Holland Casino and the largest poker brand in the world, the WSOP is a wonderful addition to our already wide range of poker games and it’s a both nationally and internationally outstanding event.”
World Series of Poker events director Gregory Chochon also had to a comment on the collaboration: “As a European, I know that Holland Casino is a party that is able to organize a large and prestigious poker event, such as the historic Master Classics of Poker. We are very proud that the WSOP will work with such an iconic casino chain and we look forward to more Dutch players taking part in the WSOP in Las Vegas.”
World Series of Poker
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is the biggest poker event in the world and is held every year in Las Vegas. It started with just one event, but now consists of over fifty tournaments in various forms of poker, all offering thousands of dollars entry fee. Each WSOP Main Event has a $ 10,000 No Limit Texas Hold ’em tournament. The winner of this event is regarded as the unofficial world champion of poker and also becomes an instant millionaire.
In 2007 the organization expanded by organising an annual World Series of Poker Europe in London. From 2010 there is the World Series of Poker in Africa in South Africa and a few years later the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific was organised in Melbourne.
